Set in an elevated position within the Magazines Conservation Area, the Magazine Hotel boasts a unique viewpoint of the River Mersey and New Brighton promenade, which allows day trippers and walkers to take full advantage of all that the pub has to offer. Set within a quiet residential area, there is a strong community feel which extends into the overall ambience of the pub and allows customers old and new to feel very much at home. With its extensive beer garden offering plenty of seating areas in which to enjoy the stunning views, it is a literal hotspot on a warm summer’s day. Situated to the rear of the pub beer garden is the Magazine Bowling Club, first established in 1853 which has always maintained a strong affiliation with the pub.
The Magazine Hotel is one of the oldest pubs on the Wirral, with its building dating back to 1759, and still maintains much of its original character and charm. With our unique snugs and open fireplace, we always offer a warm welcome to our many customers. We are one of only a handful of pubs in the area still serving draught Bass, which attracts customers from near and far. With the introduction of guest ales in recent years, here at The Mags we are proud to support our local breweries, one of which Brimstage Brewings Trappers Hat is building a reputation to rival Bass, and has proven to be so popular with our customers, we now have it as a permanent fixture on our bar. Check out our drinks section of our website to see our current cask conditioned ales as well as those that are coming next. Please check this regularly as it can change on a daily basis. We are a member of Cask Marque, BRAG and we can also be found on www.yourround.co.uk . Here at The Mags we also enjoy hosting our biannual Beer and Cider festivals which are always a wonderful event enjoyed by all. With our continued commitment to real ales and ciders, we hope to build on our recent awards and nominations from CAMRA.
